Frequently Asked Questions
Starting your therapeutic journey can be a complex decision. The following questions may help you decide if you would like to work with me.
Do you take insurance?
I do not. As an Out-Of-Network provider (OON), this practice does not contract with or interact with Insurance companies. Most health insurances offer an "out-of-net-work" or "non-network" provider options. I will be happy to provide an itemized receipt (also known as a superbill) upon payment for each session, which you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
How much can I expect my insurance to reimburse me for?
This is dependent on your “out of network” benefits. For additional information please check with your insurance provider. Here are some common questions to ask:
Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
What is my deductible and has it been met?
How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?
Is approval required from my primary care physician?
How long does it take to get reimbursed?
What types of payment do you accept?
I accept all major Debit and Credit cards, including Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Plan (HSA). Payment is due at the time of services and you are responsible for seeing that my services are paid in full. Meeting this responsibility shows your commitment to therapy.
If you carry a balance for two sessions, we will put our meetings on hold until the balance has been paid.
I use Ivy Pay as my merchant service.
What is your cancellation policy?
This practice has a 48-hour cancellation policy which means that cancellations without 48-hour notice will be charged for the entire cost of the missed session. Both late cancellations and missed sessions (no-shows) will be charged the full fee since that time is held exclusively for you. I respect and value your time and this policy is one way in which you can show that you respect and value mine. Thank you for your understanding regarding this important matter.
Please note: I cannot guarantee that rescheduled sessions will occur at a similar time or within the same week although I will try my best to accommodate you.
Do you offer in-person sessions?
Not at this time. All appointments offered are virtual. By using a HIPAA-compliant telehealth and electronic health record (EHR) platform, you can feel confident knowing your information and sessions are confidential. Your privacy and confidentiality are of the utmost importance to me.
What do I need for virtual sessions?
You will need to have a device with a front-facing camera and microphone, a strong internet connection, and a place that offers you confidentiality and privacy. The goal of telehealth is to mimic the environment of in-person therapy as much as possible.
I want to work with you, what’s next?
I am so excited to get to know you and hear about your needs so I can better support you. You can request to schedule a 20-minute free phone or video consultation with me where we will discuss your goals for therapy and we will assess fit.
If we are a good match, I’ll help you get started and we will schedule our first appointment. You’ll be ready to start this amazing journey and I cannot wait for that to happen!
